PORT ANGELES — Tickets are on sale for a Michael Jackson tribute concert Saturday.
Michael Knight of Salem, Ore., will perform Jackson’s songs and moves in “Unbreakable” — a concert with live music, backup singers and dancers — at the Vern Burton Community
Center, 308 E. Fourth St., from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Doors open at 5 p.m., and Knight will host a meet-and-greet after the show, said Cindy Kochanek of the city Parks and Recreation Department.
Tickets are $15 and will be sold at the door Saturday.
Advance tickets are on sale from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday at the Vern Burton center.
The goal is to raise $8,250 for the general fund for Parks and Recreation’s Youth and Family program, which serves children 5 to 12 years old, said Kochanek.
Fascination since teen
Knight became fascinated with Jackson when he was 14 and has since studied the late pop star’s performances, learning to copy his moves and his voice.
He has performed Jackson tributes across the U.S.
The concert will be appropriate for any age, Kochanek said.
