PORT ANGELES — Tickets are still available to most of the celebrations planned among the trees and wreaths that will be all dressed up for the holidays in the Vern Burton Community Center during the post-Thanksgiving annual Festival of Trees.
Tickets to the two Teddy Bear Teas sold out the first weekend that tickets went on sale, Nov. 9-10,
Tickets still can be purchased for the Festival of Trees Gala and Auction, the Family Days Breakfast and the Family Days open houses.
This year, 58 decorated trees and some 50 wreaths by volunteer designers will be on display at the center at 308 E. Fourth St. from Friday, Nov. 29, through Sunday, Dec. 1.
Each tree comes with a number of presents.
They will be auctioned off at the winter-themed Festival of Trees Gala and Auction on Nov. 29.
The festival is a three-day fundraiser for the Olympic Medical Center Foundation and the Port Angeles Exchange Club.
How to get tickets
Tickets for the events are available at the OMC Foundation office at 928 Caroline St. or by phoning the office at 360-417-7144.
In addition, new this year to the festival will be an all-class Port Angeles High School reunion at 7:30 p.m. Saturday that will feature a dance and auction.
It will follow the all-class PAHS men’s and women’s basketball tournament at the high school gym at 304 E. Park Ave., which will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
No advance tickets are sold for the reunion. Admission — $20 for the general public — will be paid only at the door.
“This event is drawing a lot of interest, as many people in town are interested in seeing classmates who will be home for the holidays,” said Bruce Skinner, director of the OMC Foundation, who added that he expects between 250 and 300 people to attend.
“In particular, a lot of people are interested in seeing members of the two teams we are honoring,” Skinner said, adding that they will be at the reunion.
Those two teams are the 1952 Port Angeles High School boys team, the only team in Port Angeles history to be ranked No. 1 in the state; and the 1986 PAHS girls team, which finished second in the state, the highest finish for a girls team, Skinner said.
Members of the 1986 team also will play in the tournament, which has about 20 teams registered.
Teams must pre-register with the OMC Foundation by phoning 360-417-7144 or going by the office.
The fee is $10.
