SEQUIM — A white plastic wristband and a $50 antenna can provide families with peace of mind.
So promised Sequim Police Officer Maris Turner as she demonstrated a Project Lifesaver receiver in the police station parking lot on Thursday.
Project Lifesaver helps officers find people who, due to Alzheimer’s disease or other dementia, Down syndrome or autism, have wandered away from home and are lost.
It is a system used by public safety agencies around the country, Turner said.
A check of law enforcement agencies found that it is not offered by the Port Angeles Police Department, the Forks Police Department or the Clallam County Sheriff’s Department.
