DISCOVERY BAY — A traffic stop blocked a portion of U.S. Highway 101 near the intersection with state Highway 20 briefly today, and Port Angeles police detectives left to search the car.
The State Patrol stopped a Dodge Charger that is connected with a Port Angeles police narcotics investigation at about 2:01 p.m. at Milepost 282, according to Port Angeles police and State Patrol dispatchers.
The highway was cleared by about 2:30 p.m.
Port Angeles Police Chief Terry Gallagher said at about the same time that detectives were on their way with a search warrant.
He said four people who were in the car have been detained.
Gallagher said Port Angeles police received the search warrant Wednesday and had sent a notice to all police agencies in Western Washington to keep a lookout for the car.
The vehicle was heading westbound at the time of the stop, he said.
