PORT HADLOCK — Naval Magazine Indian Island has a security training exercise scheduled for Thursday.
Training activities will occur near the installation’s main gate. The exercise will include the use of loud sirens and bright blue flashing lights. Announcements will be broadcast from the base’s loudspeaker notification system.
The main gate may be temporarily closed for a short period of time during the exercise. The Navy expects that to have minimal impact on traffic in the area.
Residents living in the communities surrounding Indian Island and installation personnel could notice increased noise levels and activities associated with training activities, the Navy said.
The Navy conducts these types of security exercises at installations across the world to ensure readiness and verify response procedures, officials said.
