PORT LUDLOW — Canadian-born artist Kathy Follett has ventured — alone — through 26 countries in Europe and north Africa.

These travels, along with her years living in New York and now Port Ludlow, have inspired the art she’s displaying now at the Port Ludlow Artists’ League Gallery inside Columbia Bank, 9500 Oak Bay Road.

The Artists’ League, along with Follett, invite community members to a free opening reception in the Columbia Bank lobby from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday.

In addition, other Artists’ League members will show their work in the gallery adjacent to the bank from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. that same evening.

A founding member of the Artists’ League, Follett works in such media as cast bronze, polyester resin (fiberglass), plaster over welded steel, cast aluminum, cast paper and fiber. She paints in oils, acrylic and watercolors.

“Follett is truly a renaissance artist,” said Artists’ League spokeswoman Judy Danberg.

Follett’s show will stay through this month at the gallery at Columbia Bank, which is open from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.
