SHINE — Drivers will not be able to make left turns at the intersection of state highways 104 and 19 on Memorial Day, the state Department of Transportation said.
A previous WSDOT press release had stated that left turns would be permissible on the holiday.
Southbound drivers on state Highway 19 will still be able to turn right onto state Highway 104, and eastbound drivers on state Highway 104 will still be able to turn right onto state Highway 19, but other turns will require a detour over Center Road.
A temporary signal will be placed at the intersection of state Highway 104 and Center Road while the left turn restrictions are in force.
The restrictions are expected to be in effect through late July.
Additionally, the intersection will be closed to all traffic from 10 p.m. May 28 to 5 a.m. May 29.
After completion of the roundabout at state Highway 19, crews will begin construction of a metered roundabout at the intersection of state Highway 104, Shine Road and Paradise Bay Road, at the western end of the Hood Canal Bridge.
