LAPUSH — Julia Jones, an actress from “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” will make an appearance in LaPush Friday as part of the tribe’s Cherish Our Children event.
Jones will autograph photos for fans for a fee as part of the fundraiser, said Quileute publicist Jackie Jacobs.
The prices have not yet been set, Jacobs said.
The event will be at 5 p.m. at the A-ka-lat Tribal Center.
In the movie, Jones portrays Leah Clearwater, a Quileute tribal member and the only female member of the so-called wolfpack.
In the “Twilight” saga, because vampires are living near by the reservations, some Quileute teens develop into werewolves to protect the humans in the area. Although the Quileute have legends about descending from wolves, there are no werewolf legends.
Friday’s event will include a spaghetti, seafood and hot dog dinner fundraiser, silent and live auctions with one silent auction table set up especially for children, photos with Santa and a crafts sale.
Donations of gift certificates, sports paraphernalia, artwork, Native American crafts, gift baskets, money or other items are needed.
Proceeds from the event go toward the Quileute Housing Authority and the Forks Santa’s Workshop program to provide gifts for children.
