Two 24th District lawmakers ailing

Two of the 24th Legislative District’s three lawmakers are recuperating from major surgery earlier this month.

Rep. Jim Buck, R-Joyce, underwent rotator cuff surgery on his right shoulder on Dec. 9.

House Majority Leader Lynn Kessler, D-Hoquiam, underwent an emergency appendectomy on Dec. 11.

“Jim and I were commiserating last week on our various wounds and painkillers,” Kessler said Wednesday afternoon from her home.

“I guess Jim Hargrove is the only one of us who is whole.”

Reps. Kessler and Buck, along with Sen. Hargrove, D-Hoquiam, represent Clallam and Jefferson counties in the state Legislature.
