PORT ANGELES — A Chevrolet pickup truck collided with a building following a two-car collision at Eighth and Cherry streets.
There were no serious injuries, Port Angeles Police Department corporal Jeffery Ordona said.
Police responded about 1:09 p.m. Tuesday when a man who was driving the pickup ran a red light traveling eastbound on Eighth Street and was struck by a woman driving a Honda as she entered the intersection southbound on Cherry Street, Ordona said. An infant and a toddler also were riding in the Honda, Ordona said.
The Honda struck the side of the pickup, which then collided into the northwest corner of the Emporium building, Ordona said.
Port Angeles building department staff responded to oversee that the removal of the truck was done safety because the building did not appear to be stable, Ordona said.
A private contractor responded to shore up the framing of the building after the truck was removed by a wrecker, Ordona said.
