SHINE — A Port Angeles woman and a 6-year-old boy were hospitalized after their car crashed into the railing of the Hood Canal Bridge on Saturday morning.
Kari C. Dryke, 35, and Easton J. Fisher were taken by ambulance to Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton for injuries suffered in the crash, the State Patrol said.
The wreck closed the eastbound lane of state Highway 104 for more than an hour.
The State Patrol cited Dryke for driving too fast for road conditions and for a child safety restraint violation.
The nursing supervisor at Harrison Medical Center said she had “no comment” when asked for the conditions of the two injured in the wreck.
Dryke was driving a 2002 Lexus sedan westbound across the bridge when she lost control, swerved into the eastbound lane and struck the eastbound barrier, the State Patrol said, adding that the car was destroyed.
No drugs or alcohol were involved, and seat belts were used, troopers said.
