PORT ANGELES — Two people were injured when the truck in which they were riding left the road and struck a tree.
Elbert Hampton, 80, of Forks was flown to Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett, and Elsie Hampton, 77, of Forks was transported to Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles, the State Patrol reported.
Elsie Hampton was driving a 2015 Dodge Durango eastbound on U.S. Highway 101 at milepost 217 about 11:16 a.m. Tuesday when the truck left the road to the right and hit the tree. The vehicle came to rest in the eastbound lane, the State Patrol said.
Updates on the Hamptons’ conditions were not immediately available Wednesday.
Both were wearing seat belts, and neither drugs nor alcohol were involved, the State Patrol said.
The truck had reportable damage, the State Patrol said.
