PORT TOWNSEND — One woman was transferred to intensive care while another was listed in satisfactory condition at a Seattle hospital Thursday afternoon after they were airlifted from a single-car wreck on Four Corners Road south of Port Townsend.

JaNelle Strong, 31, of Chimacum was driving at the time of the wreck, shortly before 9 a.m. Thursday, in the 800 block of Four Corners Road, according to Chief Criminal Deputy Arthur Frank of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, according to East Jefferson Fire-Rescue. According to Frank, passenger Brianna Thebeault also was airlifted to Seattle.

Transferred

Strong was being transferred to the intensive care unit late Thursday afternoon, with no condition listed, according to Susan Gregg, the director of media relations at Harborview.

Thebeault was listed in satisfactory condition, Gregg said.

Strong was driving a blue Dodge Durango westbound on Four Corners Road when the vehicle drifted off the pavement and hit a driveway berm, according to Bill Beezley, East Jefferson Fire-Rescue spokesman.

The vehicle became airborne and struck a tree on the side of the roadway.

No other vehicles were involved.

The wreck was under investigation Thursday by the sheriff’s office.
