GARDINER — Contractor crews working for the state Department of Transportation will begin constructing a temporary two-lane bypass for U.S. Highway 101 over Contractors Creek on Monday.
The work zone, at milepost 277.9 near the east end of Old Gardiner Road, will have occasional night-time lane closures with alternating single-lane traffic, according to a DOT press release.
Once the bypass is completed and traffic is detoured onto it, crews will replace a culvert under the road with a new bridge.
The project is expected to be completed by Sept. 2025, DOT said.
