PORT TOWNSEND — Two men were brought to shore safely after their small boat capsized about 150 yards off the Fort Worden boat launch, according to East Jefferson Fire-Rescue.
The men were attempting to retrieve their crab pots Saturday when the boat became unbalanced, turned over and lost its motor, pitching both men into the water, said Bill Beezley, fire department spokesman.
Both men, who were not identified, were wearing life vests.
Family members watching from shore called for help.
Those at PT Paddlesports, a kayak concession, paddled out to the men and towed them to shore — “cold, wet and safe,” Beezley said.
