A passenger in a one-vehicle rollover collision on U.S. Highway 101 six miles north of Forks was listed in serious condition Monday morning while the driver remained under investigation.
A 2008 Infiniti G37 driven by Hugo E. Sandoval, 20, of Forks was southbound on U.S. Highway 101 at milepost 198 about 3:40 a.m., according to a State Patrol collision memo. The driver tried to make a left turn but the vehicle crossed over the centerline and collided with the northbound embankment before it came to rest along the northbound ditch.
Passenger Andrew Santos De la Cruz, 19, of Forks was airlifted to Providence Medical Center in Everett with unknown injuries. He was listed in serious condition Monday morning, according to hospital spokeswoman Casey Calamusa.
Sandoval was not wearing a seatbelt but was not injured.
Drugs or alcohol were involved and charges remain under investigation, according to the State Patrol.
Passenger Simeon Ortiz Lorenzo, 21, of Forks also was not wearing a seatbelt and was injured. His condition was unknown Monday afternoon.
The vehicle was totally destroyed, according to the State Patrol.
