PORT TOWNSEND — United Good Neighbors of Jefferson County has kicked off its fundraising season, and is thanking the community with a gift.
Thursday night at the Port Townsend Community Center, 620 Tyler St., at 7 p.m. the Key City Public Theatre will perform a play focusing on the aftermath of Sept. 11, titled “The Guys.”
The play focuses on two people, a fire chief and a journalist working on the obituaries and eulogies of six firefighters who died in the World Trade Center during the terrorist attack of Sept. 11, 2001.
The performance is free, and is being offered as gift to the community from the theater group and UGN.
“There is absolutely no cost to the community,” said Liz Coker, a spokeswoman for UGN.
“We don’t expect a donation. We will give people a flyer of what we’re all about, but we do this as a service to the community.”
