PORT ANGELES — The United Way of Clallam County 2012 fundraising campaign has gathered $667,549 in donations — 67 percent of its $1.06 million goal.
“All community members are encouraged to give a small amount, which helps to strengthen our community,” said Executive Director Jody Moss on Friday.
“We have all seen the value and importance of a strong and critically important safety net of supportive services, including services which provide education supports, income and meeting basic needs, and health care,” she added.
“Year-end giving can help your family feel like they have made a difference right here at home.”
The fundraising campaign ends March 31.
Donations will be distributed each month throughout 2013 to 25 nonprofits in Clallam County as well as to United Way’s four community solutions programs: Access to Health Care, Access to Help/211, the Clallam County Literacy Council and the new Great Beginnings Early Learning Initiative.
Last year, United Way raised $883,458, which has been distributed to local nonprofits throughout the year.
The United Way office at 102½ E. First St. will be open Thursday and Friday as well as Monday, Dec. 31, to accept donations.
Contributions also can be mailed to P.O. Box 937, Port Angeles, WA 98362.
