OLYMPIA — Gov. Chris Gregoire said today there will likely be a special legislative session in the coming weeks, but lawmakers need a firm agreement on the agenda before she makes the call.
Gregoire expects to meet with House and Senate leadership on Tuesday to discuss the timing of a special session, and which bills should be taken up.
Gregoire says she will only call lawmakers back if they have a firm agreement on the work to be done, so there isn’t extended debate.
Her preferred length: Just a day or two.
The Legislature adjourned at 1 a.m. today, ending a 105-day regular session. But a few important bills were left unresolved.
