PORT ANGELES — A 50-year-old Sequim man was listed in serious condition at a Seattle hospital Monday after crashing a motorcycle on Interstate 5 near Chehalis.
Eric T. Thomas, 50, lost control of the 1998 Honda GL 1500 motorcycle he was riding at about 1:15 p.m. when traffic ahead of him slowed on northbound Interstate 5 about a mile south of the Lewis County city Sunday afternoon, the State Patrol reported.
Both the motorcycle and Thomas came to rest in middle of lane of the three-lane freeway.
Thomas was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
He remained there in the intensive care unit Monday afternoon, hospital spokeswoman Susan Gregg said.
Thomas was wearing a helmet, and drugs or alcohol were not involved, the State Patrol said.
Speed too fast for conditions was listed as the cause of the wreck. Thomas was cited for speeding.
