PORT ANGELES — Investigators say alcohol played a role in a motorcycle wreck that killed a 45-year-old Sequim woman in west Port Angeles.
The unidentified victim was riding on the back of a Harley-Davidson motorcycle driven by Roger Dean Mallicott, 46, of Port Angeles when it crashed into a 1999 Ford Expedition driven by Lovera Marjorie Blackcrow, 29, on the north side of Edgewood Drive near Dry Creek Road early Sunday.
The victim, who has not been identified pending notification of her family, died of her injuries Sunday evening at Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles.
Both Mallicot and Blackcrow were arrested for investigation of driving under the influence of alcohol and vehicular homicide.
Blackcrow was booked into the Clallam County jail at 4:14 a.m. on Sunday. She is being held without bond.
Mallicott was booked in the jail 35 minutes later. He is being held on $500 bond for the DUI charge.
After the death of the victim, their cases were referred to the Clallam County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for investigation of vehicular homicide.
Formal charges have not been filed.
