NEAH BAY — A mudslide at milepost 2 that blocked state Highway 112 near Neah Bay has been cleared.
The slide, which occurred at about 8:30 this morning, was cleared from the both lanes by 3:31 p.m., the state Department of Transportation said.
The slide near Bull Man Creek, a couple of miles east of the Makah reservation, had blocked both lanes. One lane was opened for alternating traffic at about noon.
Slides are common in the stretch of Highway 112 near Neah Bay.
On March 30, two slides occurred at milepost 3 — one in the morning and one in the afternoon — each closing one lane of the highway. Both were cleared the same day.
A week earlier, a slide 5.6 miles southeast of Neah Bay had reduced the highway to one-lane traffic for about five hours.
