FROM THE JEFFERSON County Sheriff’s Office:

On 11-15-12, at approximately 1:30 p.m., the Quilcene, WA, branch of US Bank, located at 14890 Center Road, Quilcene, WA 98376, was robbed at gunpoint by an unidentified male who fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

The lone gunman entered the bank, walked to the first teller, pushed a customer out of the way, and pointed a dark-colored semi-automatic pistol at the teller and demanded cash.

The teller complied with the gunman’s demands. No shots were fired and no one was physically injured during the incident.

Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies and Detectives, a Washington State Patrol Trooper, a Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife Officer, Washington State Department of Corrections Officers, and a Federal Bureau of Investigation Special Agent responded to the scene.

The area was searched for the suspect and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Canine Unit conducted a track of the suspect, eventually losing the scent, indicating that the suspect may have departed the area in a vehicle.

Nearby Quilcene School was placed into lock down until law enforcement was confident that the suspect was no longer in the area.

The suspect is described as being 5′ 10″ to 6″ 0″ tall, about 30 years old, approximately 160 to 180 pounds, wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt with the hood pulled up and the sleeves cut-off, a red bandana over his face, and dark-colored sunglasses.

The suspect may have had a moustache and possibly spoke with a Hispanic accent.

The suspect should be considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.

If you see the suspect call 9-1-1. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Detective Anglin at 360-344-9762 or banglin@co.jefferson.wa.us.
