The wreckage of a floatplane that crashed off Vancouver Island, killing six people of eight on board, was raised today.
After an initial inspection by TSB inspectors, the plane will be transported to a federal facility in Richmond, British Columbia, where a lengthy investigation will take place. It is expected to take a few days to arrive in Richmond.
The de Havilland Beaver aircraft nosedived into the frigid water off Saturna Island, just northwest of Washington’s San Juan Islands, on Sunday shortly after takeoff after 4 p.m.
