JOYCE — A four-year $495,713 maintenance and operation expenses replacement levy for Crescent School District appeared headed for victory after the initial count of mail-in ballots Tuesday night.
The vote was 534 yes, or 62.7 percent, and 318 no, 37.3 percent. The next vote count is scheduled for Friday.
The voter turnout as of Tuesday night was 48.3 percent, with 852 ballots counted out of 1,764 issued.
About 25 ballots were left to count as of Tuesday night, and more ballots were expected to arrive in the mail Wednesday.
The Crescent School District in Joyce was the lone district requesting a levy in Clallam County.
