PORT TOWNSEND — A 16-year-old girl was kidnapped and robbed at gunpoint, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported today.
Here is the news release:
From Joe Nole, Chief Criminal Deputy, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office:
On February 13, 2013, at approximately 6:00 PM, the JeffCom 9-1-1 Center received a report that at about 4:15 PM a 16 year old female had stopped her green Toyota pick-up truck to check on a male subject who was walking south near mile post 7 on Center Road.
The female said the male appeared to be injured and had what looked like a bloody white bandage wrapped around one leg. When she stopped and asked if he needed help he pointed a dark colored semi-automatic pistol at her and ordered her to let him in the vehicle.
Once in the vehicle the male ordered the female to drive south on Center Road, turn left onto the northern entry of Dabob Bay Road, then onto Dabob Post Office Road where he told her to pull the vehicle to the side of the road. The male demanded her purse and rummaged through it while holding her at gunpoint.
When a vehicle approached, the male ran into the woods. The female was able to escape and ran in the opposite direction. She traveled through a wooded area, coming out onto Coyle Road where a passing motorist stopped to assist and called 9-1-1.
The suspect was described as a while male of unknown age, about 5′ 10″ tall with dark eyebrows, wearing a black beanie, black hooded sweatshirt or hooded long sleeve tee shirt, and dark colored pants that could have been blue jeans. The suspect also wore a green and blue colored bandana that covered his face from the eyes down.
The suspect should be considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call Detective Ryan Menday at the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, 360-385-3831.
