SEQUIM — The body of a 78-year-old man missing from his Agnew home since Monday morning was found this afternoon at the south end of River Road.
Robert “Bob” Goss, who suffered from dementia, was found dead outside his car by a resident in the area, said Chief Criminal Deputy Ron Cameron of the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office.
Goss’ death does not appear to be suspicious, Cameron said.
The discovery was reported to the sheriff’s office at 3:50 p.m.
Goss left his Finn Hall Road home between Port Angeles and Sequim sometime before dawn Monday, taking his sister’s keys to her silver 2006 Grand Cherokee Laredo.
His sister, Mary Ann Hudson — who was his caretaker — said she thought he went out to buy a Coca-Cola and had gotten lost.
Clallam County sheriff’s deputies scoured the area but found no clue to his whereabouts.
Speaking on behalf of the family, Goss’ nephew, Jeff Hudson, said they wanted to thank everyone who helped search for him.
“We are so thankful to the community,” he said. “They have been absolutely outstanding with people wanting to help.”
Goss moved from the Sacramento area to live with his sister about two years ago.
