DISCOVERY BAY — A West Vancouver, B.C., woman was in satisfactory condition at Jefferson Healthcare hospital this afternoon (Friday) after the State Patrol said she pulled onto U.S. Highway 101 from West Uncas Road in Discovery Bay and collided with another car.
Gail Louise Moa, 68, had stopped at the stop sign at Uncas Road and Highway 101 at about 3 p.m. in a 1990 Toyota Tercel when she made a left turn onto the highway about 10 miles south of Port Townsend, turning in front of a 2013 Volkswagen Passat driven by
Kenneth Richard Shock, 71, of Brinnon, the State Patrol said.
The two cars collided in the southbound lanes of Highway 101 and came to rest in the northbound lanes,.
Schock was treated at the scene, while Moa was taken by ambulance to Jefferson Healthcare in Port Townsend, the State Patrol said.
Moa was in satisfactory condition as of 5:30 p.m. today, a Jefferson Healthcare representative said.
The cause was listed as failure to yield right of way and a citation is pending, the State Patrol said.
Both cars were totally destroyed, the State Patrol added.
Both Moa and Schock were wearing seat belts.
