PORT ANGELES — Trials have been set for November for the two drivers charged with vehicular homicide in the death of a Sequim woman one week ago.
Roger Dean Mallicott, 46, a Port Angeles area resident, and Lovera Marjorie Blackcrow, 29, of the Lower Elwha Klallam reservation both pleaded not guilty in Clallam County Superior Court on Friday to causing the death of Shelly Marie Bartlett, 45, of Sequim.
Trials for both begin Nov. 16 and last between one and two weeks. They face a maximum penalty of life imprisonment and a $50,000 fine if convicted.
Both have been released from the Clallam County jail on $100,000 bonds.
Mallicott, who was riding a motorcycle, and Blackcrow, who was driving a Ford Expedition, were both allegedly drunk when they crashed into each other early Sunday morning at Dry Creek Road and Edgewood Drive, court documents say.
Bartlett was riding on the back of Mallicott’s motorcycle and died Sunday afternoon at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle from injuries sustained from the wreck.
