SEQUIM — The Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe and the North Olympic Salmon Coalition are seeking volunteers to help plant native trees along the Dungeness River from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
The tree planting party was postponed from Feb. 23 because of excessive snow cover.
According to a press release, reforestation of the floodplain will improve the habitat for fish and other wildlife.
Tools and gloves are available in limited supply so volunteers are encouraged to bring their own.
Light refreshments and hot drinks will be provided.
Volunteers should bring warm, waterproof clothes and boots, water and a lunch.
