Volunteers are currently being sought for the North Olympic Peninsula area of the Olympic Relay Adventure slated for Friday and Saturday, Aug. 11-12.
Event organizers are seeking five to 10 cylists to monitor runner exchanges on the Olympic Adventure Route, Olympic Discovery Trail and Larry Scott Trail for approximately four to five hours.
Those without a bicycle will be given a specified location to watch for runners as they come into the exchange and hand off to another runner.
These individuals will let teams know when their runner is near and help keep track of which teams have passed through the course.
Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
Segments are 3 to 8 miles in length for a five-hour shift, according to a news release.
Volunteers will need to sign a waiver to participate. The waiver is available by visiting www.olympicrelay adventure.com.
The event will donate $75 to the volunteer’s preferred charity or nonprofit organization, according to the release.
