PILLAR POINT — A small washout has closed the westbound lane of state Highway 112 near Pillar Point Road.
State Department of Transportation workers were unable to stabilize the slope today and will return Thursday at daylight, spokeswoman Kelly Stowe said.
Traffic is alternating in the eastbound lane, and stop signs have been put in place, she said.
The washout occurred along the shoulder.
The State Patrol closed the shoulder after reporting it at 2 a.m.
Transportation workers arrived at 9 a.m. to begin repairs.
The road is expected to be fixed Thursday.
