CLALLAM BAY — A section of state Highway 112 near Pillar Point Road remains restricted to one-way, alternating traffic after rainy weather foiled attempts to repair a washout discovered Wednesday.
Work to repair the westbound lane of the highway will continue next week, when a forecast for drier weather raises hopes that the ground will be less soggy, said Kelly Stowe, state Department of Transportation spokeswoman.
Crews on Thursday erected stops signs at each end of the washout, Stowe said.
Drivers should come to a full stop and wait for any oncoming traffic before traveling cautiously through the area, Stowe said.
The area has “had a lot of rain,” Stowe said.
“The reason they were not able to get it completed this week was because the weather was so bad.”
