PORT ANGELES — Do you want to learn how to sail a yacht?
Learn the ropes this weekend at America’s Boating Course, presented by the North Olympic Sail and Power Squadron at the Port Angeles Yacht Club, 1305 Marine Drive.
The boating course is from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
The cost of the course is $45, plus $10 for a Boater Education Card.
Six months of free membership in the Power Squadron is also offered as part of the course.
The course is designed for all boaters and covers boating safety, rules of the road, adverse conditions and emergencies, anchoring, docking, trailering, nautical charts, tides and currents, and communications.
Instructors with local knowledge also will review state and federal regulations to prepare students for a Washington Boater Education Card that is required for all boaters younger than 60.
