PORT ANGELES — The Compassion Games, which began Wednesday, continue through this weekend and into the next.
The 11 days of events are to promote compassionate action throughout Port Angeles and the surrounding community, said Mindy Aisling, one of the coordinators of the effort along with Kristin Halberg.
Random acts of kindness and other compassionate acts can be logged and tracked at www.compassiongames.org.
From 7:30 a.m. to 7:50 a.m. today and Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Sept. 20, Halberg can be phoned at 425-343-2374 to learn more about how to bring compassion to everyday life and bring one’s heart “into the vibration of compassion.”
People also can attend these free, public events.
Weekend events
Today, a Yoga Happy Hour is scheduled from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Kula Yoga, 128 E. Front St. Another Happy Hour is set for next Friday, Sept. 20.
On Saturday is the United Way Day of Caring, as well as a Compassion Games booth at the Port Angeles Farmers Market at The Gateway transit center, Front and Lincoln streets, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
At 2 p.m. Saturday, storytelling for children will be presented at the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St. For more information, phone 425-343-2374.
On Sunday, meditation and worship are planned at 10 a.m. at Unity in the Olympics, 2917 E. Myrtle St.
From 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at 162 S. Barr Road, a radical forgiveness workshop is planned. For information, phone 360-808-2662.

Events also are planned Monday through Sept. 21, which is the International Day of Peace, www.InternationalDayofPeace.org, as well as the closing ceremony, with a “peace chorus” of the games at a booth at the Port Angeles Farmers Market.
