PORT ANGELES — The Fiddle Kids of Port Angeles plus Hot Damn Scandal, a self-described “tipsy American Gypsy blues” band, will play this Saturday night at the Black Diamond Community Hall.
The dance at the hall at 1942 Black Diamond Road is a fundraising party for the Port Angeles Farmers Market. Tickets are $15 for adults and teens and free for children 12 and younger, and proceeds will benefit the farmers market’s year-round operations.
The Fiddle Kids, a quintet blending voices, guitar, stand-up bass, fiddles and mandolin, will do the opening set at 7 p.m. Al Watkins leads the Kids: Lael Butler and Elizabeth Watkins, both 14; Adam Watkins, 10; Charlotte Hertel, 12; and Imogen Fraser, 7.
Hot Damn Scandal, a Bellingham band featuring Port Angeles-bred fiddler Chandra Johnson, will step up at 8 p.m. and play for a good two hours of dancing.
Snacks, soft drinks
All Saturday evening, snacks and soft drinks will be available for purchase, and guests will have a chance to buy raffle tickets for a basket full of goods from the farmers market and a picnic table-and-benches set.
Advance tickets to the benefit are on sale at four locations: the farmers market, open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays at The Gateway pavilion, Front and Lincoln streets; Renaissance Cafe, 401 E. Front St.; Good to Go Grocery, 1105 S. Eunice St.; and Port Book and News, 104 E. First St. Tickets will be available at the door, too.
