WEEKEND: Dungeness River Audubon Center in Sequim showcases local photography

SEQUIM — A new photography show is up at the Dungeness River Audubon Center at Railroad Bridge Park, 2151 W. Hendrickson Road, where admission is free and people’s choice voting is underway.

The display presents 20 images by local photographers, selected from a monthlong workshop held on the North Olympic Peninsula.

Just for fun, visitors are invited to vote for their favorite pictures in the show, which will stay up through the end of this month.

The river center, which also has exhibits about the Dungeness River and its wildlife, is open six days a week: from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays and from noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays.

The nearby Railroad Bridge, whose trestle was damaged by the rain-swollen Dungeness River on Feb. 6, is open again, but only partially.

Visitors can walk onto the main, covered portion of the bridge for a view of the river, but they cannot cross over to the west side, since the trestle is no longer safe.

For more information, phone the center at 360-681-4076 or visit www.DungenessRiverCenter.org.
