WEEKEND FESTIVAL — Eighth Olympic Art Festival to spring alive Saturday in Quilcene

QUILCENE — The Olympic Art Gallery, Sally and Charlie Brown’s place at Washington Street and U.S. Highway 101, will celebrate the holiday weekend with the multifaceted Olympic Art Festival from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Admission is free to the eighth annual event, a showcase of carvings, jewelry, photographs, pottery and paintings, all inspired by nature.

Here’s a sampling of the artists and creations in Saturday’s event.

■ Watercolorist Amy Weber will paint her miniature canvases and display her unconventional images of wildlife.

■ Charlie and Sally Brown will show off their metal sculpture, from benches to fountains to fire pits.

■ Randy Hopfer will display his wildlife photography.

■ Gary Love’s photography, Susan Adams’ pottery and Sharon Wald’s scratchboard art will be on sale at 20 percent to 50 percent off regular prices.

■ Terry Foltz will be on hand with his scroll art.

■ Patricia Taynton will show her photorealistic paintings.
