SEQUIM –– A dead lover’s suggestion to the blocked writer he left leads to . . . . such is the plot of “Rose’s Dilemma.”
Olympic Theatre Arts presents Neil Simon’s award-winning play at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays starting tonight, with 2 p.m. Sunday matinees through Sept. 21.
“‘Rose’s Dilemma’ has the quick humor and snappy banter Simon is known for,” director Karen Hogan said.
“It’s funny and poignant, and in the end, lets us know that love endures.”
Sharon DelaBarre plays the title role of Rose, based loosely on playwright Lillian Hellman.
Suffering writer’s block and going broke five years after the death of her lover, Walsh, played by Tom Darter, DelaBarre’s Rose — upon advice from the deceased Walsh — recruits ghostwriting help in the form of Dalton Williamson’s Gavin Clancy to finish a novel.
That leads to a love affair between Clancy and Rose’s assistant and daughter, Arlene, played by Jennifer Sies.
With tickets $16 for adults, $10 for 16 and younger, the shows will take place on the main stage at Olympic Theatre Arts, 414 N. Sequim Ave.
Tickets are available at www.OlympicTheatreArts.org and the door of the playhouse.
