PORT TOWNSEND — Swooping in to the Key City Playhouse on Sunday: the Jaybirds, a modern bluegrass quintet known for burnishing traditional music with its own sass.
The band will take the stage at the playhouse, 419 Washington St., at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in a concert presented by the Toolshed Sound Lab and the nonprofit Key City Public Theatre.

Nominated for two Juno awards and two Canadian Folk Music awards, the Jaybirds are frontman and mandolinist John Reischman, guitarist Jim Nunally, fiddler Greg Spatz, bassist Trisha Gagnon and banjo man Nick Hornbuckle.
