Library campfire
PORT ANGELES — A community sing-along and campfire will take place behind the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St., at 6:30 tonight.
Participants are invited to bring a blanket or a lawn chair and settle in for an evening of music, marshmallows and a visit from the Port Angeles Fire Department.
Music will be led by musicians Dan and Carrie Cobb.
Children will have an opportunity to see a firetruck up close and visit with local firefighters from Clallam County Fire District No. 2.
The community sing-along is part of the library’s summer reading program, “Fizz! Boom! Read!”

PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles High School choirs will host a car wash at the Chevron gas station, 601 E. First St., from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
They will raise funds for their 2015 spring break trip to New York City.
More than 100 members of four choirs are planning to sing at several locations, see some Broadway shows and visit the Statue of Liberty during the trip.

Hospital blood drive
PORT TOWNSEND — A blood drive is planned at Jefferson Healthcare hospital from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. today.
Today’s drive at the hospital auditorium at 834 Sheridan St. aims to make up for drives that have been canceled in places that lack air conditioning.
Because of hot weather, blood drives have been canceled where there is no air conditioning, such as in churches and community centers, said Kate Burke, hospital marketing manager.
The Puget Sound Blood Center anticipates losing about 300 of the usual summer blood drive donations.
Jefferson Healthcare and Puget Sound Blood Center are extending blood drive hours to accommodate work schedules and provide ample opportunity to help, Burke said.
