Foss Environmental Services Co. workers will be assessing potential hazards today associated with a 42-foot fishing boat aground off Rialto Beach.
U.S. Coast Guard officials and a Quileute tribal fisherman responded to distress calls Tuesday, but located the vessel Wednesday.
The two passengers aboard the Edmonds-based SeaHawk were not injured in the incident.
Foss Environmental will begin removing diesel fuel from the boat today, Coast Guard Station Quillayute River Petty Officer Mark Baumgaertner said.
The passengers began calling the Neah Bay Coast Guard Station late Tuesday because they believed they were at Watta Island.
A thick fog could have contributed to the incident.
