LAPUSH — A formal Change in Command ceremony will be held at the Quillayute River Coast Guard Station on Aug. 15.
The 28 men and women of the station, the Quileute tribe and members of surrounding communities will bid farewell to station skipper Senior Chief Petty Officer David Meyrick.
Meyrick, who has served at the station for three years, will be relieved of duty by Senior Chief Petty Officer James Herzog, said Coast Guard spokesman Lt. Kevin Barres.
The public ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. at the station located in LaPush.
Capt. Bill Peterson, Port Angeles-based commander of Coast Guard operations on the North Olympic Peninsula will oversee the ceremony.
