A second public hearing will begin at 6 p.m. at the state Department of Natural Resources office, 411 Tillicum Lane in Forks.

Another hearing will be at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 18 at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.

The first hearing was conducted in Sequim on Feb. 4.

State-mandated Shoreline Master Programs generally apply to land within 200 feet of lakes, marine waters and rivers and streams with a flow of at least 20 cubic feet per second.

They also apply to wetlands, floodplains and critical areas.

Public comment will assist the Planning Commission in making a recommendation to the three county commissioners, who will ultimately adopt a shoreline plan.

The November draft Shoreline Master Program update is available on the Clallam County website, www.clallam.net, under “Current Issues.”
