FORKS — Clallam County Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of a man’s death Wednesday morning on property owned by timber company Rayonier Inc. in the Dickie area northwest of Forks.
Sheriff Joe Martin said he would not release the man’s name because he was not sure if next of kin had been notified.
Martin did not know the man’s age or how the man died, but said foul play was not immediately suspected.
“It appears that is was natural causes,” Martin said.
The location of the man was on the 5600 Road, a spur off Rayonier’s mainline, Martin said.
The person was not a Rayonier employee, said Bill Peach, regional manager for the company based in Forks.
Peach also said the person was “recreating,” and was in an area that had been locked off.
