LAPUSH — The Quileute tribe will seek a new person to head its police department following Chief Rich Christiansen’s departure last week.
A tribal official confirmed Wednesday that Christiansen is no longer employed by the tribe but disclosed few details of the chief’s departure.
“There were some ongoing issues that sort of culminated,” said Paul Siewell, prosecutor and court administrator for the tribe.
“Whether it was a resignation or a termination, I’m not sure,” he said.
Christiansen’s last day as chief was Thursday.
