NEAH BAY — Two juvenile males were held in the Clallam County juvenile detention facility Sunday after sheriff’s deputies investigated what they said was the rape of a juvenile girl.
Makah tribal officers summoned the deputies early Sunday after adults found the girl in a wooded area in Neah Bay, according to sheriff’s Capt. Ron Cameron.
The deputies determined the girl had been sexually assaulted. They did not release the victim’s age.
After initial treatment at the Neah Bay clinic, she was transferred to Olympic Medical Center. She later was released from the hospital.
Cameron said the rape occurred Saturday night on a beach near Neah Bay. He said the male youths were arrested without incident.
He said alcohol was a contributing factor in the assault.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the incident.
