Western Strait cleanup planned

CLALLAM BAY — The annual Western Strait Clean Up starts at 9 a.m. Saturday for waterfronts from Pillar Point to Bullman Beach, and everyone is invited to join the community effort.

Organizers with the Clallam Bay Marine Resources Committee will hand out trash bags and gloves at the following locations off state Highway 112 in ­Clallam Bay and Sekiu: Straitside Resort, Sunsets West Co-op, Ray’s Grocery, on the Hoko River in the Vista neighborhood and at the Shipwreck Point pullout.

The marine resources group also will set up a Dumpster in the Clallam Bay County Park.

Debris gatherers are then invited to a get-together at Chito Beach Resort on Saturday afternoon, where refreshments, music and a display of the most unusual finds will be set up from 1 p.m. till 4 p.m.
