PORT ANGELES — Westport Shipyard, the luxury yacht-maker, has reduced employment levels at its Port Angeles plant.
“Westport Shipyard Inc. has made adjustments to employment levels at its 50-meter yacht construction facility,” Human Resources Manager Jennifer Swogger said today in a two-sentence prepared statement.
“The reduction is reflective of the current market conditions for premiere luxury yachts.”
Swogger would not comment on how long the employment reductions would last, how many employees were affected or how it compares with other layoff periods at the company’s plant west of downtown on Marine Drive at Tumwater Truck Route.
