Free, public Thanksgiving dinners are scheduled across the North Olympic Peninsula. One is today, with all others on Thanksgiving Day.

Meal today
PORT ANGELES — The Salvation Army plans its Thanksgiving meal today, the day before Thanksgiving.
The turkey dinner, with all the fixin’s, will be from noon to 2 p.m. at the Salvation Army, 206 S. Peabody St., Port Angeles.

Thanksgiving dinner
PORT ANGELES — Serenity House will hold its traditional community Thanksgiving dinner at the Single Adult Shelter, 2321 W. 18th St., from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday.
Community members are invited to attend.
Volunteers are welcome to help with meal preparation and serving.

Queen of Angels
PORT ANGELES — A free community meal is scheduled on Thanksgiving Day at the Queen of Angels gymnasium.
The meal from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. is “a free dinner for anyone in the community who doesn’t have a place to go on Thanksgiving, said Eileen Knight, one of the organizers of the event.
The dinner — the first offered at the Queen of Angels gym, 209 W. 11th St., Port Angeles — is not sponsored by the church, Knight said.
It’s the inspiration of three Port Angeles women who work at Queen of Angels, she said: herself, Tammy Gallagher, and Reath Ellefson.
Donations have come in, and Ellefson “has been whipping this up,” Knight said.
She added that she has no idea how many will show up, but says the group is prepared for all comers.
Community meal
PORT ANGELES — A free community dinner is planned at Olympic Vineyard Christian Fellowship on Thursday.
The meal will be at 3 p.m. at the church at 3415 S. Peabody St.,

Traditional dinner
SEQUIM –A complimentary Thanksgiving Day dinner for veterans, their families, widows and widowers is also open to the general public.
Reservations are requested.
The dinner will be from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the VFW Hall, 169 E. Washington St.

Peace vigil, dinner
INDIAN ISLAND — A Thanksgiving peace vigil and potluck picnic will be held at Lloyd Goode Park on Indian Island from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday.
Members of the public area asked to bring food and drink to share, but no signs.

Community dinner
CHIMACUM — A Tri-Area community Thanksgiving dinner will be served at the Tri-Area Community Center, 10 West Valley Road, from noon to 3 p.m. Thursday.
This free dinner, sponsored by the St. Vincent De Paul organization in cooperation with Olympic Community Action Programs, Senior Nutrition and the community center, will be cooked and served by volunteers.
Turkey dinner
BRINNON — A community dinner will be held at the Brinnon Community Center, 306144 U.S. Highway 101, at 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
Turkey, dressing, gravy and mashed potatoes will be provided.
Participants are asked to bring side dishes.

Forks dinner
FORKS — A free community Thanksgiving Day dinner is planned in the basement of the Forks Church of the Nazarene on Thursday.
The meal will be served from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the church at 170 Dickey Lane,
A dining area will be set up upstairs from the basement for those who have difficulty using stairs.
The dinner is organized by Feeding the Five Thousand, which is under the umbrella of the Forks Betterment Association.

Clallam Bay-Sekiu
SEKIU — A free Thanksgiving feast for Clallam Bay and Sekiu residents is scheduled from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday.
The meal will be in the Sekiu Community Center.
Donations and contributions of food are welcome.
